FIRST PLACE
The Texas Cowboy Reunion

For over 75 years working cowboys have gathered in Stamford, Texas to compete in rodeo events that demonstrate skills of past and present ranch life. What influence has the cowboy had on history, music, art, and poetry. Share the determination, spirit, and hard work that settled the West.

SECOND PLACE
Cattle Drives: History of the Ft. Worth Stockyards
Ashlei Adamd, Merkel,TX
Explore the history of the Ft Worth Stockyards as cattle were driven down the Chisholm Trail.  Over four million cattle were trailed through this area known as "Cowtown" between 1866 and 1890. There will be actual footage of a live cattle drive that still takes place daily at the historic Stockyards.

THIRD PLACE
Indian Territory, Western Lawmen and Outlaws
Tammy Parks, Howe, OK
Broadcast Journalism students from Howe Public Schools invite you on a journey to The Federal Court for the Western District of Arkansas and Indian Territory. The stories shared during this Western adventure span the years 1872-1896, and will focus on the heroic deeds of Fort Smith's deputy marshals and the outlaws they pursued and brought to justice. The trip will also include an exploration of Judge Isaac C. Parker's Courthouse, often referred to as ‘Hell On The Border’.

FIRST PLACE
Ranch and Rodeo
Kimberly Fuller, Breckenridge, TX
Come ride high in the saddle with the Breckenridge T.A.G. Team with their virtual field trip about "Ranch and Rodeo." Find out what it takes to be a "real" cowboy. Saddle up your ponies and get ready for the ride of your life learning about life on a ranch, parts of a ranch, and all aspects of ranch life such as the different types of cattle or animals that you would find. The program is also about rodeos, the kind of events in a rodeo, the people that are in rodeos, the animals that are involved in the rodeo, and how rodeos stemmed from the ranch.

SECOND PLACE
Presidential Memorials
Michelle Mullineaux and Molly Williams, Falls Church, VA
Explore the Washington, Lincoln and FDR Memorials with the students from Congressional Schools of Virginia. Students will take you on a quick tour of the memorials and share information about each one.

THIRD PLACE
Wind Energy
Leslie Murphy, Snyder, TX
Wind energy is growing in popularity in the United States. In West Texas, wind farms are being built by the hundreds. Our presentation shows the importance of wind energy and its effect on our small town's economy. Students investigate the pros and cons of wind energy and the wind farms in our area.
